Commander Mattes has been a police officer in Orland Park for 28 years.   His previous assignments include Deputy Chief of Police, Field Operations Commander, Patrol Division Commander, Patrol Sergeant, and Commander of Criminal Investigations.

Jack holds an AS Degree in Criminal Justice from Morraine Valley Community College, and a BS Degree in Criminal Social Justice from Lewis University.  Jack is married with three children, all girls, two of which have completed college.  His third daughter is finishing her first year of college at Morraine Valley Community College.

The Commander of Administrative and Technical Services is responsible for:

• Supervising all Units within the Division of Administrative and Technical Services

• Building and Grounds Maintenance

• Fleet maintenance and purchasing

• Equipment purchasing and Maintenance

• Inventory Control

• Uniform Purchasing
