Testing dates:

 Orientation: February 2, 2008

Written Exam: February 23, 2008

Physical Ability Test: March 22, 2008

All exams take place at the Orland Park Civic Center,

Orientation – Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

Applicants whose last name begins A-M report at 8:15 a.m.

Applicants whose last name begins N-Z report at 8:30 a.m.

 

Witten Exam – Saturday, February 23, 2008

Applicants whose last name begins A-L report at 8:30 a.m. – Test begins at 9:00 a.m.

Applicants whose last name begins M-Z report at 11:00 a.m. – Test begins at 11:30 p.m.

 

Physical Ability Test – Saturday, March 22, 2008

All eligible report at 8:30 a.m.

 

All of the above take place at the Civic Center

TELECOMMUNICATOR POSITIONS

At the present time the Orland Park Police Department is not hiring telecommunicators. However, if you are interested in being notified when the Orland Park Police Department will be testing if the future complete the below application and either email or forward via U.S. Mail. Your information will be added to the mailing list. Telecommunicators respond to emergency telephone inquiries, requests for police and fire services and dispatch staff and equipment by radio, telephone and other media. This position requires a high school diploma or GED along with excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to speak distinctly and effectively, maintain accuracy and confidentiality and solid interpersonal skills and judgment are also required. Good typing and or computer skills and a minimum of one year of previous experience is preferred. Individual must be able to work various shifts. Salary range starting at $28,449.
